As the sun begins to set on the Leighton property, I'll guide you through a series of creative prompts, and then introduce the evening's mixed media project.

Part of the workshop will take place outdoors so please dress for the weather.

 

Please bring a journal and pen, a lawn chair and a mug for tea.

 

All other supplies will be provided.

An eco art workshop that creates zero waste. 

​

Plastic pollution isn’t just an ocean problem. Tiny fibres and fragments of plastic have been found in the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton and scientists have found microplastics near Everest’s peak. It’s everywhere!

If you’ve been following my work, you know how much plastic is lying along the shore of Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary. While lots of efforts are being made to address this issue from the source, there’s still a long way to go.

We will start by gathering beach plastic and then I'll introduce some mixed media techniques that you can use to transform your plastic into art. 

​
